Luxury Hotel Amenities with Purpose: An Interview with Two Good Co.’s Rob Caslick

At Two Good Co., every product tells a story of impact, sustainability, and empowerment. As an Australian-owned business, Two Good Co. creates luxury hotel amenities that not only elevate guest experiences but also provide meaningful employment opportunities for women affected by domestic violence.

We spoke with Rob Caslick, the engineer behind Two Good Co., to learn how their Australian-made amenities are reshaping the hospitality industry—one ethically sourced product at a time.

Q: What inspired the creation of Two Good Co.?

A: Our goal was to scale our soup kitchen without relying on donations. While we served organic meals, what we truly provided was dignity and community. We wanted to expand our impact without depending on handouts.

Q: What’s the meaning behind the name “Two Good Co.”?

A: We started as a buy-one, give-one business—selling meals in the city and donating one for every purchase. After donating to a women’s shelter, we saw how deeply this support was needed. That’s when we shifted our entire focus to helping women affected by domestic violence.

Q: How long has Two Good Co. been making a difference?

A: We’ve been operating for eight years, continuously growing our impact across Australia.

Q: How can hotels make a difference by choosing Two Good Co. amenities?

A: By selecting our Australian-made hotel amenities, hoteliers directly support our mission. In 2022 alone, we provided employment opportunities for 38 women. Every bottle and product sold funds our programs, helping women rebuild their lives.

Q: How many lives have been impacted by your work?

A: We donate 1,000 meals per week to women’s shelters, and our goal is to graduate 60 women per year into stable employment. The ripple effect of this support is immeasurable.

Q: Where are your bath products made and sourced?

A: All our luxury hotel amenities are proudly made in Australia, including the recycled plastic bottles used for packaging.

Q: Two Good Co. offers more than just hotel amenities. How did that evolve?

A: We design products based on the needs of women in shelters—from luxury homewares to pantry essentials. Every item we create serves a purpose, fueling innovation while restoring self-worth.

Q: How do Two Good Co. amenities support both environmental and social sustainability?

A: Our philosophy is simple: maximum social impact, minimal environmental footprint. Our refillable hotel amenities are made with recycled RPET plastic, and we’ve even designed dispensers using ocean-recovered plastics.

Q: What’s been the most surprising part of your journey?

A: The overwhelming support from individuals and businesses who believe in our mission. It’s inspiring to see how many people want to be part of positive change.

Q: What’s your proudest moment so far?

A: One woman shared that she’s now a positive role model for her daughter—breaking generational cycles of hardship. That’s the kind of change that makes everything worthwhile.

Q: How did the collaboration with Interior Images come about?

A: I met Val Houston, the founder of Interior Images, and shared our vision. As an engineer with no background in personal care, I needed guidance. Val has been instrumental in helping us create luxury Australian-made hotel amenities that align with our values.

This is the first in our ‘Brand Q&A’ blog series, where we bring you the inspirational stories behind our Interior Images brand partners.

Join us as we catch-up with Jackie Ashley to discover more about the ethos and inspiration behind Ashely & Co and its beautiful products. Read on to learn about Jackie’s vision for creating luxurious, functional, and sustainable products that will elevate your guest experience.

Q: You describe Ashley & Co as a ‘modern-day scent company’. Tell us about this.

A: Our main purpose is to create daily moments of joy, peace and tranquillity through the power of scent, and habitual positive rituals. We believe well-made scents with care and purpose applied, can soothe and heal. We’re not defined by just one category and have always used scent to cross different barriers. We love creatively connecting with our customers and improving each part of their day!

Q: How would you describe the products you create?

A: We believe in deep scent loyalty. Rather than mass-produced products for everyone, we make products that can breathe new life into the home and everyone in it. Our customers know and understand that Ashley & Co creates consistent timeless products for them, their most used spaces and beyond.

Q: Can you tell us what inspired you to start Ashley & Co?

A: Scent-filled moments from my past have a significant place in my memory bank. For Ashley & Co. its foundations were about melding together my love of scent and interiors and creating beautiful, functional products for the home. When we launched, we’d just moved into our first home and I drew inspiration from that environment, but also from past travels and products that I’d experienced and loved.

Q: What sets you and your products apart?

A: The Ashley & Co. range includes a breadth of products from Home Fragrance through to everyday Skincare, Hair and Body Care, as well as growing Kitchen and Petcare categories. Our intent is for people to be able to access and enjoy our scent-focused products every day, both at home and in travel, setting us apart from the competitor set.

Q: What are your most popular products for hotels and why do you think that is?

A: Our focus is primarily on increasing our use of more sustainable plastics and converting our customers to purchasing bulk refills for our everyday range of 500ml bottles, which include Handwash and Body Lotion for the sink, and shower amenities including Shampoo, Conditioner and Body Wash. We aim to make solutions simple but of the highest quality. It’s important for a hotel’s guests to have accessible, trusted formulations and products, with the assurance that these are also sold at a retail level in premium stores.

Q: What do you think your products bring to a property’s guest experience?

A: Scent holds a precious position in our lives, it’s the vehicle through which we find our sense of familiarity and pleasure. For us, every scent experience is as crucial to well-being as shared moments of human connection, whether it be at home or away.

Q: You place importance on ease of reuse and recycling – can you tell us a little more about that?

A: By no means do we claim to have perfected everything but our customers appreciate our thoughtful, considered design ethos that has led to a suite of unique, bespoke forms, always contained in premium yet mindful packaging. Our sustainability credentials are also a key reason for our customers to re-purchase, not only for the reliability of our formulations and production but reflected in TopUp – our range of refills that is currently our fastest-growing category.

Q: How do you test the effectiveness of your products?

A: Our products are made in Auckland and are Cosmetics NZ GMP Certified. This means that our products are manufactured using processes and procedures set out by Cosmetics NZ and International Standard. The raw ingredients used in our formulations are primarily sourced within New Zealand and a network of premium, select cosmetic ingredient suppliers from a sustainable network abroad. We choose to use ingredients for their botanical benefits some of which are New Zealand-sourced, distilled and infused including native KawaKawa and Horopito.

Q: What inspires the new products you create?

A: I continue to ask myself when looking at new products or categories – does this creatively connect with our community through the power of scent and genuinely create pockets of pleasure throughout their day? For me, a product would not come to fruition if I couldn’t see it having a place and purpose in my day as being both practical and uplifting!

Q: What is the proudest moment on your journey so far?

A: Here at Ashley & Co, we feel grateful to have been so supported by our community since the get-go. We like to return support to the people around us, as well as choosing specific groups and charities with which to collaborate – one of those is Cure Kids. We developed a close friendship with the leading Cure Kids ambassador, Eva, a very inspiring young woman. After a collaborative period of R&D, in 2020 we launched two new products developed very much around Eva’s wishes and her playful spirit. Wonder Washup and Soothe & Zap were sold through retail, Ashley & Co. online and corporate partners. We managed a result to be proud of; after this initial collaboration, we generated donations that exceeded all expectations for Cure Kids and their ongoing work surrounding child health research.

Q: What trends are you seeing in the amenities space?

A: Assurance that the formulations are quality, using ethically sourced ingredients and credentials that meet their sustainability expectations – whether this is in tubes and the content that these are made of being recycled, post-consumer plastic, bioplastic, or larger bottles and amenities that can be refilled.

Limiting paper and outer soft packaging waste is also on trend with a movement towards less soft plastic outers to sustainably sourced and FSC-certified outer packaging. All are balanced with careful consideration to maintain the luxury experience of a premium product.

Q: Why did you choose to work with Interior Images?

A: I feel Interior Images and Ashley & Co have similar core values – both started by Women with a passion! My first encounter with Interior Images was a personal phone call from Val. Val’s enthusiasm and passion for her business were clearly evident. To me, Interior Images represents a brand that has created a very loyal following and like us, plans to keep growing and responding to our community’s needs, while still adhering to our strong values and commitment to quality, reliability, and positivity.

Luxury hotel amenities are changing, travellers are increasingly conscious of their environmental impact. High-end hotels are responding by integrating eco-friendly solutions that maintain elegance, quality, and guest experience. One of the most impactful changes in recent years is the shift from single-use plastics to sustainable, refillable hotel amenity dispensers.

Across Australia and New Zealand, leading properties are embracing dispenser programs as part of a broader responsible luxury movement. These solutions minimise waste, reduce costs, and enhance guest experiences. At the same time, they reinforce a hotel’s commitment to both sophistication and sustainability.

Discerning travelers today appreciate thoughtfully curated luxury hotel amenities. Many hotels now offer Australian-made, cruelty-free toiletries and sleek, wall-mounted dispensers designed to align with their brand identity.

With continuous advancements in hotel amenities and dispenser designs, properties have access to high-end, custom-branded solutions. Whether opting for refillable or non-refillable options, selecting the right dispenser system allows hotels to elevate guest satisfaction, strengthen brand positioning, and contribute to sustainability goals—all while maintaining luxury and convenience.

Refillable Dispensers: A Sustainable & Cost-Effective Solution

✔ Eliminates plastic waste by replacing single-use hotel toiletries.
✔ Reduces overall expenses with bulk refills.
✔ Aligns with sustainability goals while maintaining luxury.

Hotels across Australia are increasingly transitioning to refillable luxury hotel amenities. This approach significantly reduces waste while ensuring an elevated guest experience. To maintain hygiene standards, dispensers should be replaced every 6–12 months to keep them in top condition.

Non-Refillable Dispensers: A Hygienic & Hassle-Free Alternative

✔ Prevents contamination, ensuring product quality.
✔ Reduces labor costs by eliminating manual refills.
✔ Uses less plastic than single-use 30ml–50ml bottles.

For properties that prioritise hygiene and operational efficiency, non-refillable dispensers offer a practical and premium solution. Guests benefit from fresh, high-quality products, while hotel staff spend less time managing refills.

Wall-Mounted vs. Freestanding Dispensers

Wall-Mounted Dispensers: Space-Saving & Tamper-Proof

✔ Secure installation prevents theft and tampering.
✔ Saves space in compact showers with limited shelving.
✔ Blends seamlessly with modern, high-end interiors.

Wall-mounted dispensers create a streamlined, contemporary look. Many luxury resorts and business hotels favor this option for its security, efficiency, and aesthetic appeal.

Freestanding Dispensers: A Bespoke, Luxury Touch

✔ Creates an at-home, spa-like feel for guests.
✔ Ideal for premium properties that want to emphasize exclusivity.
✔ Pairs well with designer hotel amenities for a high-end experience.

Freestanding dispensers enhance the guest experience by providing a personalised, boutique-style atmosphere. Many five-star hotels prefer this approach, as it allows guests to feel as though they are using their own luxury skincare products.

Sustainability & Australian-Made Hotel Amenities

Interior Images offers eco-friendly dispensers and Australian-made hotel amenities to help properties minimise their environmental impact.

How Dispenser Programs Support Sustainability

🌱 Eliminates single-use plastics, significantly reducing waste.
🛒 Promotes local businesses by sourcing Australian-made hotel amenities.
🏆 Meets guest expectations for responsible luxury and sustainability.

Switching to a luxury dispenser system prevents over 23,000 single-use bottles from reaching landfills per year in a 140-room hotel. Beyond environmental benefits, this transition strengthens a hotel’s reputation as a sustainable hospitality leader.

Cost Efficiency Without Compromising Quality

Investing in a hotel dispenser program may require an initial setup cost. However, the long-term savings make it a financially smart decision.

✔ Lower per-use costs compared to individual toiletries.
✔ Reduced housekeeping labor costs with fewer refills.
✔ Fewer product replacements, leading to greater financial efficiency.

Luxury hotels can maintain both sustainability and profitability by choosing premium hotel amenities that provide lasting value.

Bringing smiles to the faces of sick children.

TLC for Kids is Australia’s leading children’s charity. For 25 years they have given relief and distraction to children and their families during stressful and traumatic situations. TLC for Kids offers four services that are accessed over one-million times a year across Australia. Each service is designed and developed with one aim – to help bring smiles back to the faces of sick children and their families.

Interior Images are longtime supporters of TLC for Kids. We believe in the critical importance of the work it does, and the real difference it makes in the lives of those who need it the most.

Today we want to share the story of TLC for Kids. Our goal is that you too will be inspired to get involved, and together we can help to create more smiles.

Q&A with Tim Conolan AM – Founder & CEO of TLC for Kids.

Q. What inspired you to start TLC for Kids 25 years ago?

A. I started TLC for Kids in June 1998. On a guided tour of the Royal Children’s Hospital, Ana Darras (then, working in Public Relations at the hospital) explained the vast number of children admitted to the hospital that were ‘falling through the gaps’ and were missing out on emotional support. I was struck by the enormity of illnesses and health-related issues faced by children. I felt that, regardless of the situation relating to a health complication, be it a serious or chronic illness, car accident or terminal disease, most kids need some sort of distraction or support to help them get through what is often the toughest time of their life. There was a need for a support group or charity to focus on helping the child regardless of their illness. This is where and why TLC for Kids was established.

Q. What was the very first TLC program to get off the ground?

A. The first program to be implemented was the RAPID TLC program, which remains the fastest referral system of its kind in Australia. Approved healthcare professionals can request free emotional and practical support for sick children and their families, and TLC for Kids is committed to responding to all requests immediately, ensuring action within 24 to 48 hours, or even within the hour, which inspired the name ‘RAPID TLC.’ With its rapid turnaround and lack of restrictive criteria, TLC for Kids strives to ensure that no child misses out on support.

Q. If we were to walk into a hospital or medical room right now and see a TLC for kids’ program in action, what would it look like?

A. You may see one of our TLC Distraction Boxes, either in the cupboard, under the bed or in the hands of a healthcare professional. The TLC for Kids Distraction Box Program is designed to give nurses and healthcare professionals the perfect tools to guide young children through painful examinations and procedures. Each Box is placed in medical rooms and contains items that engage the attention of the child; complement the procedure; comply with hospital infection control protocols; and divert attention away from the procedure.

Q. Can you explain how your support programs have changed or evolved over the years?

A. RAPID TLC Program: This service provides rapid emotional and practical support to sick children in need, as well as their families, through an efficient referral system. TLC for Kids responds promptly to all requests, ensuring no child misses out on crucial assistance. Over the years, this service has become quite streamlined in its approach to increase turnaround time for deliveries whilst making it easy for healthcare professionals to submit requests. This involved the development and fine-tuning of our online referral system.

TLC Distraction Box Program: The Distraction Box Program equips medical rooms with engaging and comforting items to distract and guide young children during painful examinations and procedures, helping to alleviate their distress. Over the years, this program has gone through a number of adjustments and improvements, from the size and shape of the box itself, to the items used for distraction therapy. There have also been some improvements in training materials and methodology to make it even easier for healthcare professionals.

Tap 2 Distract App: The Tap 2 Distract App offers digital distraction therapy, aiding in pain management and stress relief for children facing medical procedures. The app has been widely appreciated by healthcare professionals and patients alike. Still in its early stages, there have already been some improvements to gameplay and content as a result of feedback from the users of the app.

The TLC Ambulance: The TLC Ambulance is the first program of its kind in Australia, offering an immersive and engaging experience that differentiates the vehicle from other patient transport vehicles. The TLC Ambulance is more than just a vehicle – it offers a beautiful, memorable day out for families to treasure forever. Since its launch, there has been a number of minor changes to the interior look and feel, along with the extension of service delivery by adding additional support deliverables to the entire family.

Q. How do you measure whether a program or service is successful?

A. We receive feedback on a regular basis from healthcare professionals using our services. This ensures we are staying up to date with the needs of the hospitals and sick children under their care. This feedback is vital for us to identify any areas we could improve on or if we are hitting the mark with what is required. We also receive heartfelt messages of gratitude from the families we assist, which help gauge the success of our services.

Q. What are some of the biggest challenges you have faced with TLC for kids since you began?

A. The most significant challenge we face is raising awareness about our cause and establishing direct communication with decision-makers in larger businesses, major philanthropists, and board members of large philanthropic trusts, as well as potential investors and partners. Being independent of Government funding, we rely entirely on the benevolence of kind-hearted individuals, businesses, and organisations to sustain our free services nationwide. With countless worthy causes vying for attention, it becomes arduous for people to discover each charity and determine which one aligns best with their values for support. Undeniably, our journey has taken the road less travelled, akin to salmon swimming upstream while evading bears. Nonetheless, our ultimate aim is to reach and provide support to millions of children and individuals worldwide, and we are unwaveringly committed to achieving this goal despite the challenges ahead.

Q. You have impacted millions of lives over 25 years, could you single out a moment, milestone or interaction that really stands out to you?

A. This is a very hard question, as there have been so many moments over the last 25 years. I guess what stands out for me, apart from the incredible generosity of everyone who donates to our cause to keep us going, are a few messages from the hospitals and families:

From a hospital referrer: The staff at our hospital always say “we don’t know where some of these families would be without TLC for Kids. Nothing is too hard for them, and it gives us peace of mind knowing they are there to support these families.”

From a TLC for Kids families: Families who have lost their children who take the time to write a thank you letter to us for assisting them with funeral costs. This one breaks our hearts as it takes great strength to sit and write a letter after losing a child.

A couple of standout quotes:

“It was wonderful to see our little boy smiling and happy again. Your gift and support was not only for our son because his happiness was a gift to our whole family.”

“Your support by providing an air-conditioner (burns patient) was a real lifesaver. He could sleep so much better thanks to your kindness and it made a huge difference”

And one of the most moving quotes I have is from Casey’s mum, who said to me on the last night of the Trip of a Lifetime, “You have brought our daughter back to us”

Q. You have recently launched the Tap 2 Distract app. What feedback have you had so far?

A. We are incredibly delighted with the feedback we have received so far. Numerous healthcare providers have described it as a game-changer, particularly in assisting children with needle phobia during their immunizations and vaccinations. In addition, people of all ages have found it helpful in coping with stressful situations, which is a fantastic additional benefit. The achievement that fills us with the most pride is that the Tap 2 Distract App has become an integral part of Ambulance services, featured on a custom-made decal inside every Ambulance in Victoria. The other exciting feedback has been that other Emergency Service providers have expressed interest in our app as well.

Q. How important is the support you receive from organisations such as Interior Images?

A. The support we receive from various organisations, individuals, and businesses is of paramount importance. Their kindness and generosity enable us to make a difference over 1 million times each year. Our work is undoubtedly challenging, especially when we assist families with terminally ill children. However, knowing that there are people in the community backing us up helps us get through these tough times so that we can support the most vulnerable. We are incredibly grateful to all those who have supported us, and who have been a crucial part of our journey for many years. Their continuous assistance has allowed us to reach tens of thousands of children and their families, and we cannot thank them enough for their unwavering commitment to our cause.

Q. If you were able to create an ideal future, what would TLC for Kids look like in 10 years’ time?

A. In envisioning the ideal future for TLC for Kids in 10 years, our perspective has evolved. While our initial goal was to become redundant, indicating a world without the need for our services, we now recognise the ever-growing gaps in support and services. Hence, we believe that there will always be a necessity for a charity like TLC for Kids. Looking ahead, our vision for TLC for Kids in 10 years is to extend our distraction and support services globally, ensuring they reach over 5 million children and their families annually. We aim to witness a substantial increase in the support reach of our core services while also witnessing the widespread adoption of our Tap 2 Distract app. We envision this app being utilised by hospitals, emergency workers, healthcare professionals, and anyone seeking a few minutes of positive distraction to enhance mental health and well-being. Through these efforts, we aspire to make a significant impact on the lives of those in need, continuing our mission of providing essential care and support to children and their families across the world.

What you need to know NOW

Hand Sanitisers that don’t contain The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s recommended minimum of 60% alcohol are popping up on Reception and Concierge desks across Australia. While this is now a necessary offering from hotels, many of these products will prohibit the growth of germs but will not kill the Coronavirus.

Also, hand sanitisers promoting “alcohol-free” formulations are popular, but less effective. These products substitute alcohol with benzalkonium chloride as the active ingredient, because consumers often perceive alcohol as being too harsh for the skin. Such non-alcohol antiseptic products may not work for many types of germs, the CDC says, and hotels and their guests are using them without knowing the difference.

To help hotels better protect their clients and staff, local skin care companies, such as Grown Alchemist and Two Good Co., are producing Australian-made hand sanitisers that meet the CDC’s recommendations.

Grown Alchemist’s new Hydra-Gel Hand Sanitiser is a non-drying, antiseptic gel formulated with 70% Ethyl Alcohol extracted from cane sugars. The formulation boasts a unique Tri-Hyaluronan Complex and antioxidants, to instantly sanitise whilst hydrating and protecting the hands from being stripped of moisture, safeguarding against premature aging.

Two Good Co. has also just launched their fragrance-free “Instant Hand Sanitiser” which they claim “contains 70% alcohol, kills 99.9% of germs and does 100% good”, through their social mission to support vulnerable women throughout Australia. Vegan-friendly, the gel also contains glycerine to keep hands soft.

Val Houston, founder of Interior Images, says not only are these local brands filling an urgent need, they are doing so in style. “Our clients consider every visual and design element of their lobbies and public spaces, so placing a hand sanitiser from the local chemist on the front desk can be quite jarring. Grown Alchemist and Two Good Co. have elevated this type of product through their skin care expertise and modern design aesthetic.”

“Grown Alchemist is such a loved and trusted brand, people will want to try their hand sanitiser. And Two Good has such an amazing story surrounding their charity and social mission, that the bottle on the counter goes from a necessary evil to a value-added touch point,” added Houston.
